Mazuma Credit Union is growing exponentially and we are recruitin for a Branch Leader at our Midtown Kansas City Branch!

The position will also ensure the team is consistently delivering an Amazing Member Experience, both internally and externally, through Mazuma's Sales and Service Model.

The position is ultimately responsible for delivering, monitoring and achieving all branch goals and overall branch profitability; as well as meeting or exceeding all assigned goals and expectations


Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Preference given to those applicant with a Bachelor's degree.


Minimum of 2 years experience as a Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager in a financial institution required.

Major Duties & Roles

1. OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE: The Branch Leaders is responsible for all operational aspects of their assigned location(s), including all aspects of the Member and Team Member Experience. This includes responsibility for the daily operating performance and security of the branch and all branch personnel, including cash and transaction management, audit, and all regulatory compliance, and requires knowledge of all services offered by the credit union, knowledge of and adherence to all Credit Union policies and operating procedures, and knowledge of laws and regulations affecting operations and personnel, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Asset Control. This position will also be expected to solve problems and be a strong supporter of all Mazuma initiatives.

2. PEOPLE SKILLS: The position will serve as a point of contact for escalated complaints, all complexity levels of member situations and requests, and concerns from Team Members that occur within the branch. This need makes the ability to manage difficult situations critical. The leader will be able to engage in the coaching of Team Members during these situations, or other related situations. 

3. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Regarding business or community development in their assigned market.

4. BRANCH PERFORMANCE: This position will understand the metrics and financial levers of their branch location and Mazuma business. They will be able to evaluate forecasts and expenses in order to prioritize every opportunity in their location for meeting goals and budget. They will set the direction for their Team to meet or exceed assigned productivity targets.

5. HUMAN RESOURCES: Complete a variety of management tasks as assigned including the conducting of interviews and the completion of the hiring process for prospective Team Members in a timely manner, delivering disciplinary action and identifying areas of opportunity and development for Team Members. Periodic evaluations will be conducted in timely manner. The Branch Leader will need to ensure complete branch compliance with all HR related rules and regulations including, but not limited to, positive workplace, clean desk, and FMLA. This position is also responsible for overseeing and approving items such as employee timecards, time off requests, and ensuring the completion of Team member schedules. 

6. SALES & SERVICE: With a strong understanding of loans and ancillary products, the Branch Leader I must be fully engaged in leading all relevant sales and service activities. Assist Team Members as they guide, inform, and educate Members through each interaction, by helping them select the right product to meet Member needs, rather than simply being an "order-taker". Motivate and encourage, ensuring that their team has the drive, desire, and ability to meet or exceed the expectations in all areas. A strong focus in this area will determine overall branch success as it related to profitability and sustainability.
